Dear ECR 2016-followers,
the congress is over and first of all: I'm tired to death! It was a quantity of work, but still worth it. My pedometer shows more than 35.000 footsteps in two days and so I can say my feet are hurting without having a bad conscience.
For me, the highlight of the weekend was the interview with Mr. Hillman on Saturday morning. He's an inspirational person with more than 300 lectures worldwide and it was a pleasure interviewing him. I have to admit that I was obviously nervous because it was my first time interviewing a person like him: an expert in radiology. So, Mr. Hillman tried to help me out of my uncomfortable situation with his calm personality and talking to me before we started the interview.
Furthermore, having the chance to see the newest technological achievement in radiology was an incredible experience. It's nearly impossible to get the chance to speak to the "big companies" as a student; but as a live reporter I had the possibility to interact with all the exhibitors at the congress.
To sum it up: to work as a live reporter for DocCheck was an unbelievable and unique chance to dip into the world of the best physicians, the biggest transnational companies and the newest technical achievements.
PS.: And besides, meeting the DocCheck community was really cool. Antje and Alex: you two are great and you're doing a great job! Thanks for these two memorable days. :-) I wish you guys the best - yours, Patrick
