HowTo: PostsHow do I create posts? Where are they published and who can see them? Find answers to these and other questions in this article.

1. How do I create a post?

Click on the "Home" button at the top left to get to the start page. There you can use the Publishing Box to create or upload 3 different types of posts (questions, articles, or files). Use the arrows (left/right) to navigate to the respective post type you want to create.

Note: "Questions" and "Articles" are identical in their creation. However, after being saved in the system, they are recorded as different post types.

a) Ask a question

Click on "Click here to ask your question".

Give your question a meaningful title and add a text.

Visible for...:Use the dropdown menu "Visible for..." to determine who can see your post:

public = The content is public. This means that people who have clicked on the corresponding link to the channel or article or who have become aware of the page via a search engine can access this content even without logging in to DocCheck.
all DocCheck members = Anyone who is registered with DocCheck and has logged into the portal can view the content.
healthcare professionals = Medical members (see next group), medical students and logged-in DocCheck users who exercise a medical profession regulated by federal law have access to the content.
medical members = Logged-in physicians, pharmacists and medical students who have been activated (after presentation of a valid professional certificate) for content that is subject to the German Drug Advertising Act can access it.

Publish as...: The dropdown menu "Publish as..." lets you decide whether the question will be published in your profile channel ("myself") or in one of the channels you're a member of ("channel").

With the latter option, the dropdown menu "Choose channel..." appears on the right, listing all the channels in whose name you can post something. Select one of them.

Publish: Next to the green "Ask question" button, the downwards pointing arrow shows you a selection of different publication times. Choose one of them.

Publish now = The post will be published immediately in the selected channel. Editing is still possible afterwards.
Publish later = The post will be saved as a draft and automatically published at a specified time in the future. Editing is still possible afterwards. The draft can be found in the tab "Posts" in the channel that was selected for publication.
Save as draft = The post is saved as a draft and can still be edited until it is published. The draft can be found in the tab "Posts" in the channel that was selected for publication.

After selecting the publication time, you are done for the time being. Click on the green button to go to the details page of your question. Via the "Edit" button you can make changes to your question.

b) Write an article

Click on "Click here to write your article".

Further procedure (visibility/publication): See "Ask a question".

c) Upload a file

Click on "Click here to upload your files".

Now you can upload up to 10 files at the same time by clicking on the green "+" icon and selecting the desired files. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the files onto the "+" icon.

The following file types are supported:

PDF, MS Office, OpenOffice (max. 20 MB)
Image (jpg, png, gif, tif) (max. 20 MB)
Videos (avi, mov, mp4, mpeg) (max. 2 GB and 2,5 hours length)
Note: It's best to upload images with the highest possible resolution.

Give your file a meaningful title and add a suitable description text.

Further procedure (visibility/publication): See "Ask a question".

After selecting the publication time, you are done for the time being. Click on the green button to go to the details page of your file. Via the "Edit" button you can make changes to your file.

2. Where will my post be published?

You decide where your post will be published. It can appear in your profile channel or in one of the channels you are a member of. After publication, you will find your post in the tabs "Activity" and "Posts" of the respective channel.

3. I have created a post and want to edit it. Where can I find my post?

You can find the draft of a post in the tab "Posts" of the channel you selected for publication. Posts that have already been published can be found there as well as in the tab "Activity".

4. Who can see my post?

You can set the visibility of your posts in the creation process via the dropdown menu "Visible for...".

public = The content is public. This means that people who have clicked on the corresponding link to the channel or article or who have become aware of the page via a search engine can access this content even without logging in to DocCheck.

5. Can I change the visibility of my post afterwards?

Yes, you can change the visibility of your post at any time. Simply click on "Edit" within your post and select the desired visibility via the dropdown menu.

To save your change, first click on the green "Save" button and finish editing the channel with the grey "Done" button.

6. How can I improve the findability of my post?

By assigning "tags" your post will be found better via the DocCheck search. Learn more about this in the article "HowTo: Tags".

7. How do I delete a post?

Open the post you want to remove. By clicking on the three dots next to the "Edit" button in the top right-hand corner a drop-down menu will open from which you can select the "Delete" option.
