HowTo: VisibilitiesNot everything is meant for everyone's eyes. For this reason, access to content in the DocCheck portal can be controlled via visibility settings. You can find out what options are available here.

1. What is the visibility setting for?

Access to content in the DocCheck Portal can be controlled via the visibility setting ("Visible for...").

Every user who creates or uploads content to DocCheck can decide who may see their content.

This function is often used to protect content that is subject to the German Drug Advertising Act.

2. Which visibility settings are available on DocCheck?

In principle, the visibility settings on DocCheck represent the different visibility groups to which a user is assigned depending on their login status and registered profession in the portal.

This results in the following 4 visibilities:

public = The content is public. This means that people who have clicked on the corresponding link to the channel or article or who have become aware of the page via a search engine can access this content even without logging in to DocCheck.

all DocCheck members = Anyone who is registered with DocCheck and has logged into the portal can view the content.

healthcare professionals = Medical members (see next group), medical students and logged-in DocCheck users who exercise a medical profession regulated by federal law have access to the content.

medical members = Logged-in physicians and pharmacists who have been activated (after presentation of a valid professional certificate) for content that is subject to the German Drug Advertising Act can access it.

3. Who can see what?

Whether someone has access to a certain content on DocCheck depends on three criteria:

Login status of the user (logged in/logged out)
Profession of the user on DocCheck
Visibility setting of the content
