HowTo: Messages

HowTo: MessagesDrift bottle and carrier pigeon are real oldies. On DocCheck, communication is a bit more modern. Learn what content ends up in your inbox and how you can send messages yourself.
1. From whom do I receive messages on DocCheck?

Colleagues with whom you have connected on DocCheck can send you messages.

The DocCheck team will inform you about news from the community.

2. How do I find out about a new message?

On DocCheck: As soon as you have received a new message, a number will appear next to the envelope located at the top right of your profile picture. This number shows you how many unread messages you currently have.

By email: You are not logged in to DocCheck at the moment? No problem! As soon as you receive a new message on DocCheck, you will get an eMail notification in your inbox. You can manage the setting "New message in inbox" in your notifications.

3. How do I send a message?You can send a message to another DocCheck member if you follow each other on DocCheck. You can learn more about how to network with other members in the article "HowTo: Contacts".

This is how you send a message:

Click on the envelope located at the top right of your profile picture to enter the message area.

Click on the green button " Write a message" to open the message window.

Select a recipient from the dropdown. (Note: You can't write to more than one person at a time).

Enter a subject and compose your message.

Click the green "Send" button to send your message.

After successful sending, your message will be saved in your outbox.

Other options:

Option 1: You can reply to a received message by clicking on it in your inbox, writing your reply in the "Message" text field and clicking on the green "Send" button.

Option 2: You can search for the person you want to write to in your "Contacts" and then click the green "Message" button to create and send a message.
