The radial head fracture is caused by direct or indirect force exposure. It mostly happens after falling down on the strectched pronated arm with axial force exposure. It is possible that simple fissured fractures occur, but also a complete comminution of the radial head. Depending on the extent of the force, it is also possible that a fracture of the ulna occurs.
