Osteoarthopathy with a hallux situation
The malum perforans is a clinical symptom of the diabetic foot. It occurs due to trophic dysregulation of the skin and pressure on the foot (e.g. due to tight shoes). Due to the preexisting polyneuropathy the patient does not feel the pain, so that ulcers are usually detected very late.
