Neonatology is a well-acknowledged area of focus in paediatrics. After the Medical studies in university, a neonatologist usually has to go through a 5-year-long training to beome a specialist for paediatrics and another 2- to 3-yearlong additional educational programme to become accredited as a “paediatrician with focus on neonatology”.
