Jejunum tripas2The jejunm is the part of the small intestine lying between duodenum and ileum with a lenght of app. 2-2,5 m. The structure of the jejunum can be characteried by high Kerckring-folds and Lieberkühn-crypts.
As all the hollow organs, the jejunum has a mucosa. Its exterior side is followed by a double layer of smooth muscles and the exterior organ coating is the serosa of the peritoneum. The jejunum is fixed to the posterior abdominal wall by a mesenterium, the mesojejunum.
