Result of: PTA of pelvic artery with stent implantation 8mm
A stent is a small, stretchable tube made of a metal or oplastic mesh, which is implanted into an atrery.
A stent (or stent graft) is implanted into constricted or blocked arterys via a stent implantation, e.g. into coronary vessels (e.g. because of a coronary heart disease) or brain arterys. The material of the stent that is pressed against the artery wall is grown over by endothelium and keeps the passage open.
