Grading of burns:
Grade 1:
Redness and light swelling of the skin, pain, epidermis is affected, completely reversible
Grade 2:
Vesiculation, severe pain, epidermis and dermis are affected, complete recovery (2a) or with scarring (2b, when deeper dermis is affected)
Grade 3:
black-and-white-necrosis, no pain, since nerve terminals are destroyed.Dermis and subcutis are affected, irreversible
Grade 4:
Charring, no pain, all skin layers and the bones/fascia thereunder are affected, irreversible
