In case of hepatic steatosis parts of the liver are left out or are affected to a lesser extent (zonal fatty sparing) just as focal fatty infiltration can occur in a normal healthy liver. Sites of predilection are perivascular and gallbladder fossa in various forms without displacement of surrounding structures.
