In selected cases in my patients with obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, the hyoid bone is pulled towards the larynx with a strong suture. In this way, the airways are widened in the area of the base of the tongue. The surgery takes 30-45 minutes, the patient is able to eat, breathe and speak directly after the procedure without pain. This procedure is often combined with nose surgery during a short stay in the hospital.
