(without perforation)Mallory-Weiss syndrome cumulatively occurs in alcohol addicts with previousy damaged mucosa and concomitant to chronic reflux-esophagitis. The triggering situation particularly concerns the period after an alcohol excess with vomiting and the associated increase of pressure in the stomach and esophagus.
