Early example of a phrenological illustration, allegedly even before phrenology became very popular. Phrenology tries to ascribe mental traits and states to specific brain areas and to construct a correlation between protrusions or peculiarities of the cranial shape and the character of a person. Phrenology was discredited in the 19th century and widely stopped being practiced.
