Connections of the pelvic bones
This illustration shows the connections of the pelvic bones viewed from frontal. On the top left are the last lumbar vertebrae with the anterior longitudinal ligament. Alongside the connection of the sacral and iliac bone, the sacroiliac joint. Both of these structures are connected by ligaments, like the iliolumbal and sacroiliac ligament. Below those are the connections with the ischial bone via the sacrotuberal and sacrospinal ligament. The hip joint (articulatio coxae) is stabilized with the iliofemoral ligament.
