Receptor-mediated endocytosis
Schematic illustration of the receptor-mediated endocytosis. The particles that need to enter the cell (globules) are binded to the cell surface via receptors (blue Y). Parts of the cell membrane then invaginate (2-4) and pinch off, forming vesicles (5) that transport the particles into the inside of the cell.
