Transcription
Transcription is the biological process of transferring genetic information from one of both DNA strands to RNA. The DNA strand serves as a template, so that the base sequences of DNA strand and RNA are complementary. The transcription is catalyzed by DNA-dependent RNA polymerases in the nucleus. The genetic information is transported out of the nucleus in the form of messenger RNA to serve as a template for protein biosynthesis.
