The prostate is an exocrine gland situated unter the male bladder and about the size of a chestnut. It encloses the urethra directly after its exit from the bladder.
The prostate produces part of the ejaculate which is excreted into the prostatic part of the urethra through the prostatic utriculi.
Cranially it touches the bladder and caudally the pelvic floor and dorsally the rectum.
On the right side of the picture the seminal vesicle (that in reality also exists on the left side) is visible.
