The illustration shows testicles. The egg-shaped testis is about 4-5 cm long, 3 cm wide and 3 cm thick. It is connected to the spermatic cord and located inside the scrotum. The left testicle is usually slightly larger than the right and located a bit lower inside the scrotum. The testis is surrounded by several layers (tunica vaginalis testis). Innervation is via the renal plexus. Arterial blood is supplied by the testicular artery, the venous blood is drained via the pampiniform plexus.
