Tympanic tubule in the tympanic membrane
A tympanic tubule is a small tube made of metal (often gilded) or synthetic material, which is placed in the ear drum for the ventilation of the tympanic cavity.
It is differentiated between a temporary tubule(often short and made of metal) and permanent tubules made of synthetic materials.
