The incidence of Crohn's disease is approximately 2 to 3 in a population of 100.000. Prevalence is 250 to 500 in a population of 100.000. The number of diseases has increased considerably in the recent years and is not gender related. Commonly young adults between 15 and 35 years are affected by the disease.
