Benzocain (4-amino benzoic acid) is an esther type of local anesthetic with a rapid onset but short duration of effect.
Benzocaine is used primarily as medical treatment in the skin and mucosa area e.g. in oral cavity and teeth as well as in intestinal and gastric region.
In the Czech Republic it is mainly used in alcoholic solutions, soluble powders and lotions (concentrated 0.5 to 10%)
