In the adult human body the liver is the largest digestive organ. It weights between 1.400 to 1.600 g in a man and between 1.200 and 1.400 g in a woman´s body. The outer form can best be described as a broad wedge with the base pointing towards the diaphragm and the lower edge going sharp towards the ventral and caudal side.
