PEG-JThe placement of the PEG-J is analogue to that of the PEG tube

Gastroscopic placement of a light source (diaphanoscopy)

Endoscopically controlled punction of the jejunum (jejunostomy)

Insertion of a thread through the hollow needle

Taking of the thread endoscopically with a pair of forceps and pulling it out of the mouth

Connection of the tube with the thread

Insertion of the tube by pulling at the extraabdominal end of the thread

Connection of the tube end with the extraabdominal alimentation tube and external fixation with a fixating plate.

This procedure can be executed after initial sedation of the patient and local anaesthesia of the incision area.Alternatively, in accordance with the indications, a tube placed into the gastric wall can be transferred to the jejunum (JET-PEG).Source: Endoskopie-Atlas
