The percutanoues endoscopic gastrostomy is an endoscopic procedure for the percutaneous placement of an alimentary tube into the stomach after a gastrostomy.
Indication
The percutanoues endoscopic gastrostomy is generally indicated in persistend dysphagia. Dysphagia can be of different origin (e.g. progressed carcinoma of the oesophagus, facial operations).
With a PEG a permanent parenteral nutrition can be avoided.
