Anastomosis insufficiencymeans the missing tightness of a surgically created anastomosis of a cavernous organ or vessel. It belongs to the group of postoperative complications.
EtiologyReasons can be intraoperative misplacement of the suture (mainly in intestinal anastomosis) or a suture insufficiency, caused by ischemia or inflammation.
