Spleen
The spleen is an intraperitoneal organ in the upper left abdomen and consists of so-called pulp tissue, which is surrounded by a thin capsule. It is a filtration station that consists of two macroscopically distinguishable compartiments, the white and the red pulp. The white pulp is the lymphatic tissue, the red pulp contains the venous sinuses with a wide lumen.
