Right, supine wrist of a human. "Wrist" is a colloquial term that describes the joint between forearm and proximal carpus (radiocarpal joint) as well as the joint-like connection between the proximal and distal row of carpal bones (mediocarpal joint). The radiocarpal joint is the joint between the distal end of the radius, the articular disk of the distal radioulnar joint, and the three carpal bones of the proximal row (scaphoid bone, lunate bone, triquetral bone). The mediocarpal joint describes the s-shaped virtual articular joint between the proximal and distal row of the carpal bones. The mediocarpal joint consists of the individual joints between each two proximate bones and is a functional union with the intercarpal joints.
