Telangiectasia are macroscopically visible superficially located expanded tiny blood vessels (eg capillaries) of skin and mucous membranes.Telangiectasia are common on the head, face and hands, and are often already present in early childhood. They are usually without clinical significance.However, there are some diseases in which the occurrence of telangiectasias is included in the symptom complex and provides diagnostically usable information. In this context we speak of "symptomatic telangiectasia".
